After a little more than a year the sub woofer stopped working. Of course the factory warranty was up and I had to send the whole unit back for repairs. LG charged me for the repair but was kind enough to send a box to ship it. Sending unit back hopefully the repair will be done quickly.

Horrible sound bar horrible customer service

I bought this brand new from Best Buy 2020. I put in my theater and used it maybe 5 times over the years until I go to turn it on and the subwoofer does not power on. Conveniently right after the LG warranty expires. LG customer service told me there is nothing they can do but they sent me a phone number for a repair shop 2 hours away from me that didnt have a working phone number. Never buy LG sound bar. My JBL sound bar has been working for 5 years with no issues.

Sub never properly worked. Always cut in and out hundreds of reviews had this problem and no fixes. Then 15 months after cutting in and out continues the sub just disconnected and never repaired. Nothing has worked to this point. This is a rip off and it never worked properly.

I bought LG86UN85 86 TV at 11/2020 It was so fantastic that all family love it and half a year later someone introduced me LG SN8YG sound bar we bought it without hesitation because of LGs brand. Consequently Its superb quality of sound delivered overwhelmed the family again. Subwoofer stopped working after 14 months

This product breaks itself with a software update. Never before have I experienced such inept design from LGs forcing you to set up the device with Google Home to their subpar soundbar app that pushes broken software updates rendering the subwoofer useless. I have tried sending this item back to LG for repair and they sent it back in the exact same state. It just attempted to update its software again and sure enough is still broken. I will never buy another LG soundbar.

Awesome sound but quality questionable.

We purchased this soundbar system a little over a year ago The quality of Audio is Amazing it sounds like a premium quality sound system but unfortunately we had this system in the living room with out 65 inch LG Oled TV that we barely use just because we have another LG 65 Nano tv in the room and suddenly out of nowhere the subwoofer stopped working. It died completely and please note that this system has been used maybe 10 times in 1 year. Now we are stranded with no warranty because its been over a year and stuck with a brand new subwoofer that doesnt work.

I truly wish I could write a raving review. Unfortunately I cannot. The sound bar and subwoofer makes irregulars sounds and popping noises periodically. I have communicated with customer service to have the issue resolved. All they advised me to do was restart the system which I fell is only a delay tactic instead of offering a meaningful solution. Great Sound Bar... while it works

Interesting that I received a review request from LG for the SN8YG Audio Sound Bar that I purchased on January 30 2021 that is now in an LG repair facility as of last week. It has been really nice and sounds great as long as it works. Seems the subwoofer got tired of coming on and joining the party. Luckily it was still under warranty. If everything goes well I will be happy to jump the rating up to 5-Stars. So far the LG Warranty Service process has been great and hopefully continues to impress me in this process. I am beyond upset. I love LG products and this one died right after the warranty expired. It looks like an update was pushed up or something and now the bar keeps reading the same error: Unplug woofer. I cannot tell you how many forums I went onto what havent I done to trouble shoot this Ive tried it all. Called LG Customer Service which has been amazing otherwise and she just kept asking us to unplug and replug it different ways and then gave a number for a person who doesnt even fix speakers. So the soundbar works. But its kind of useless without the Woofer. Idk why its bricked but its bricked. And it was SO expensive I remember thinking well its LG so it should last. NOPE. Bought in Aug 2020 dead by Dec 2021.

wireless subwoofer is garbage

This soundbar is the worst piece of consumer electronics I have ever purchased. I bought it along with an LG Smart OLED TV which Im very happy with and after just a few weeks the wireless subwoofer started cutting out. After unsuccessfully trying to troubleshoot this problem myself I found the same problem described on a number of message boards so this is a known problem with this soundbar I returned it to Best Buy in exchange for a new one of the same model. That was my mistake. It worked fine for about a year but now the subwoofer wont turn on at all. LG customer support said that I can pay them to repair it but that would just be throwing good money after bad. Im going to buy a different soundbar and after this experience it definitely wont be LG.

I bought this for the Dolby Atmos sound. I live in a apartment so I cant have a big sound system for my games and movies. This was the perfect solution. Pairs great with my lg TV and provides clear sound. Also I had just passed my warranty with the sound bar by a few days when the sub woofer went out and lg still honored it. Huge Sound Atmos/Wifi Issues

This is an incredible sounding bar when paired with the rears. I havent used it without rears so I cant comment on how great or not great it sounds in that scenario. In 5.1 surround this thing is incredibly loud and the surround effect is great most of the time. The primary issues I have with this bar are that the rears speakers drop out pretty regularly and when using Atmos when content starts it can take 20+ seconds before the subwoofer activates so youre left with tinny sound during that window. On occasion Ive noticed that during loud scenes with Atmos some of the center channel audio just disappears completely or at best is very muffled sounding. This was bad enough that I sent mine in for service. It was returned to me stating they couldnt find any issues and that was pretty disappointing because I know the bar can sound good it just doesnt at times.

I purchased this and the surround speaker set in July of 2020. It worked great and I was impressed with the sound. The Subwoofer is no longer working and its now out of warranty. Im waiting for the return paperwork to be received so I can send it back to LG for repair. Im told Ill be responsible for the cost of repair now that its out of warranty. Subwoofer failed just after 1 year

I bought this approximately 14 months ago I recently noticed the sound was a little flat. When I checked the subwoofer was no longer working. Looking up warranty information on lens website was useless and when I tried live chat they tried to sell me rear speakers and then said I couldnt buy just the subwoofer so now my very expensive sound bar is a hunk of junk because lg wont sell me replacement parts.

Great Sound

I have had this soundbar and sub for over a year now it has great sound in any size room. In the past I only used a soundbar but the sub adds so much more quality to any tv show or movie. The only downside that I had was an issue with the pairing of the soundbar and the sub but I contacted LG and they helped me reach a solution quickly

Great sound with great features

I bought this sound bar to complete my setup of my new TV. I wanted to have great sound and this speaker bar with the separate sub-woofer speaker delivers the best quality sound ive ever experienced. The settings and features allow you to customize the sound the way you like it and take advantage of the rooms acoustics.

Bang for the buck

Compared to much more expensive sound bars I have used in the past this blew me away. You would have to spend twice as much money to achieve this level of audio quality in other brands. Its seamless integration with my lg tv makes installation a breeze and there is no need to use separate remotes. It simply just works with the existing LG tv remote without any complicated setup. I have now bought two of these for my home.

Great sound but had to send it back for repair.

I originally had purchased a surround sound system from a leading competitor but I was having a difficult time connecting with my new 55 OLED TV. Purchased both at the same time. I returned the other sound system and opted for this SN8YG system. The way the two systems connected TV Sound System connected was seamless. I took it one step ahead and purchased the wireless additional speakers to make this a 5.1 channel surround sound. Unfortunately after a few months my subwoofer stopped working. I thought it was a linking problem and I kept trying to make them both connect again and it never worked eventually the subwoofer lost power. If it wouldnt have been for this I would have easily given it a 5 star as the sound is amazing but Im not sure why such a new product would already have issues. Hopefully the item will be fixed and I will be able to enjoy it again with my LG OLED TV.

Great Sounding HDMI passthrough problems

I bought this soundbar on a good sale and didnt notice any problems. When I attempted to use the HDMI passthrough however I noticed that the screen would go black and flicker. I sent in to LG for repair and its been gone a little over a month waiting for parts. Would rate 4 stars if my unit was not broken great sound quality but kind of expensive if not on sale.

I bought my LG SN8YG sound bar to accompany my new LG TV. The sound is incredible and fills my living room with crystal clear audio. For many years I relied on my previous TVs internal speakers but now my LG soundbar makes viewing my favorite shows or movies an absolute pleasure. Should have bought one a long time ago
