I had an older LG sound board that died and the guy at the store gave me some cash for it so I bought this one. I like it. Its okay. I dont hear anything awesome coming from it. I have the bass up quite a bit and that helps. It is horrible with our internet provider. The bass will cut in and out all the time especially on specific channels. I dont think its worth the asking price. Not at all. Maybe $100 cheaper. If I had it again I would have researched a little more. One reason I did get it was because I also have a LG tv and wanted them to communicate better being same brand. I dont necessarily know that is thing to worry about any longer. Save your money buy something else. A good one I found was at a cheap place WM and cost half the price. That little thing pops out the sound. Also tech support for the bass phasing in and out was a complete waste of time. They want you to send it in and after about five weeks you get it back. Whatever.

Good for a year before subwoofer fails

I bought this about 1.5 years ago and worked well for a year. One day I noticed the subwoofer wasnt working. It was plugged in not no power. After troubleshooting I called customer support. The first agent was rude and hung up on me. The second agent couldnt help fix it and created a repair ticket. He said Id receive a call for repair. The subwoofer is out of warranty so Id have to send the bar and subwoofer to get repaired. I never received a call. I googled DIY and ran across dozens of threads from people with the same issue and no resolution other than buy a new system. With this many people and the same issue its a known manufacturer defect. I highly advise against anyone buying a soundbar subwoofer from LG.

I bought this soundbar to go with my new LG tv. Setup was very easy and the sound quality was good not great. A few months later the sound would go in and out not losing the sound but just distorted and holllow. Maybe the sub cuts in and out? I have sent it back for repair. Hopefully it helps but not happy with my purchase at this point.

I bought it back in may 2020 loved the sound of it specially while gaming or playing music. Then out of nowhere subwoofer would not turn on until it eventually just stopped working period. I should not have to replace subwoofer in less than two years of owning it. From reading reviews on this product it seems like its a common issue. LG needs to make it right.

Overall we are happy with the sound bar. It shipped quickly however all the accessories were missing from the box. I called customer service and they were helpful shipping a replacement to me with out any trouble but delivery took about 2 weeks. We werent happy that pieces were missing but it was taken care of very easily and the product sounds great.

Bought this a week ago along with an LG TV. Connected the TV to the sound bar using the included optical cable. Bar sounds good but when I turn off the TV the sound bar doesnt always shut off. Included manual is worthless and information on the internet is limited. Not sure what the issue is.

Been using this for about 1 yr 4 months and out of the blue the subwoofer stopped working. Checked to see if it was connected and the green light was on. Proceeded to unplug to plug in again only for it to not turn on. Plugged into other outlets and nothing it would make a sound when I would unplug it but thats it. Great sound with subpar Subwoofer

I bought this product in Sept 2020. Great sound when compared to competitors. High volume good bass. The problem Ive experienced along with other reviewers has to do with the subwoofer. One day out of the blue the subwoofer disconnected from the soundbar and wont reconnect even after days of trying. Ive only had this product for little over a year. Research suggests issues with the bluetooth receptor or other internal malfunction. The dip in sound quality is definitely noticeable without the subwoofer. Its a shock that LG hasnt addressed this recurring issue. Nice while it lasted but Im diving back into my pockets sooner than expected. Skeptical about future products so buyer beware.

Huge Sound Improvement at My House

I have some hearing loss so I really need good sound from my tv. This is why I chose a high quality sound bar to go with my new LG tv. The sound bar sits in front of my tv and does NOT block the screen of the tv as I have read in some reviews. The Sub Woofer sits on the floor near the tv and I like that I can place it ANYWHERE in the room that works for me This whole system was a major upgrade for me and I am very pleased with my choice of sound bar: the LG SN6Y.

The SPN5B-W subwoofer that came with this soundbar no longer powers up and thats after just 16 months. Id like to buy a used or refurb replacement but LGs online support agents have not been able to provide me a list of subwoofers compatible with the SN6Y soundbar. So Im stuck looking for another SPN5B-W. Unfortunately the seller of the only one Ive found on the Internet says it manifests the same symptom as mine -- namely it doesnt turn on. I bought the soundbar less than a year ago through lg.com and used it gently no moving no loud sound. I was happy with the ability to adjust the center channel volume but I am very disappointed with the product now because the subwoofer stopped working. The warranty information for the product could be found on LG website I got page not found error message. I cannot make a repair request on the website too.

I bought this just under a year ago and it has been fantastic until now month 11. Easy setup everything connected wirelessly with ease. Occasionally the wireless sub would disconnect/fade out this was a rare occurrence but just thought it may be the WiFi signal or people on the cell phones interrupting the signal. Now the sub is connected but there is no sound going through all the necessary reset instructions with LG did not resolve the issue. After being given at least 10 different phone numbers of local repair shops none of them repaired soundbars or anything under warranty. That said LG was kind enough to send me a return label to send it back to CA to be evaluated. Yes its a heck of an inconvenience but theres no sound coming out of it anyway so why not. I was told this is a 2-4 week process so I dont have anything else to add until I get the unit back. For the price I paid for it assuming it was because it was discontinued I feel content with my purchase as long as I dont have any other problems with it.

Great product while it was working. I was very excited to receive my product because I am partially deaf and needed the extra sound volume. Unfortunately after four months of ownership the speaker just stopped working would not come on. I am also having some difficulty in returning the product because of communication overseas. It would be wonderful if the company had customer service in the US for products that are sold in the US . Also it has been going on 2 weeks they were supposed to send the packaging to return the product still waiting for the packaging so the limit amount of days that was given to me is going to expire soon. thank you

I made the mistake of purchasing this unit. 3 months out of the 1 year warranty and the subwoofer will not connect. LG support told me to kick rocks and if i wanted to have it repaired id have to send it in and pay. I looked up this unit across multiple retailers as well as on LGs own website and most of the 1 and 2 star reviews all share the same issue of the subwoofer connection stopping right after the warranty is up. LG your customers spend good money on your products and this is not how you should be treating them. There should be a class action lawsuit against you. I wont be surprised if there eventually is. i have been collecting screenshots of all of these reviews as evidence.

I bought this three months ago and starting experiencing problems within a month and a half. I originally purchased it at Best Buy but they would not help because the purchase was beyond 30 days so I had to contact LG Support. The sound bar will turn on but within a minute the sound bar wants to go to the BT blue tooth setting even though it is attached to an Optical cable. They originally gave instructions on how to reboot the sound bar but I had to do this every time I turned on the TV. I was instructed to return it to LG and they sent it back supposedly fixed. I installed it and within a day the same thing searching for BT happened. Now each time I turn on the TV I have to reboot the sound bar - very annoying.

Bought this June 2020 it stopped working September 2021 not even a year and a half. So disappointed and when I called the customer service reps are all overseas and not helpful.
